Please join us for a fun day of giving back, as we come together as volunteers to provide surgeries for our neighbors in need. We plan on running three operating rooms in the specialties of general surgery, GI and ophthalmology. The surgeons are Michael Peterson(General surgery), Dr. Roy (GI) and TBD (Ophthalmology). The first procedures will start at 8AM, and we hope to wrap things up by 12:30PM or 1PM the latest. Please arrive early to enjoy hot coffee, juice, and breakfast provided by Operation Access. Volunteers may RSVP for the surgery session through Eventbrite or by emailing Angelica Gutierrez, Operation Access Program Manager for the East Bay at [email protected] You may also reach out the leads at Kaiser San Leandro/ Fremont, Maggie Holmes, Nona Eidelberg or Allison Miller. Kaiser Permanente San Leandro/ Fremont Medical Center allows volunteers from other Kaiser Permanente sites. However in order to volunteer from another site it is important to verify credentials prior to the session, so connecting with the leads or OA staff is imperative. If you are on-call the day of the session you may not participate. If you intend on having non-KP staff attend the session as a volunteer and/or observer, a compliance protocol must be completed and approval granted by Kaiser in advance. You may obtain documents here. Operation Access staff can answer questions related to the compliance protocol. Thank you for volunteering your time and expertise. See you soon! OTHER INFORMATION After the event, please complete our event survey to let us know how it went.
